American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active Nebraska or Compact RN license and 2+ years of ER experience.

• , Level 2 Trauma Center Emergency Department with 27 beds
• Patient population includes all ages
• Support staff on shifts includes nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics
• Phlebotomy services are available for lab draws
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system
• Shift options include 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 1p-1a, 3p-3a, and 7p-7a
• 12-hour shifts with day and evening shift availability
• Self-scheduling is available, though shifts are not guaranteed until finalized
• Weekend requirement is every third weekend, with nights on Friday/Saturday and days on Saturday/Sunday
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Nebraska state or Compact/NLC) required, pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (active only, pending not accepted)
• Acute care and Level 2 Trauma Center experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Artificial fingernails are prohibited in all patient care areas

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Emergency Department patients of all ages
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
• Candidates may not currently or recently be employed (full time, part time, or PRN) directly by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity Health
• RNs must pass a Pass/Fail open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90% to continue the assignment
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO requests will not be approved after submission
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
