American Traveler is hiring an experienced Outpatient Infusion RN with chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration skills and a PA or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Outpatient infusion center setting within a hospital-based cancer clinic
• Adult oncology and hematology patient population
• Unit sees approximately 90 visits per day across 12 beds
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 8:00a-6:30p
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call requirement
• No holiday requirement
• Uses Epic charting system
• May float to the Willowcrest Infusion Center on the same hospital campus

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania Single State or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Course certification required (may be obtained prior to start)
• ACLS and OCN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology infusion specialty required
• Experience with chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, biologics, and specialty infusions required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and infusion pump management
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, extravasation, and tumor lysis syndrome
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• PA fingerprints/Childline clearance required within 12 months of start

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology infusion setting, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biologic infusions
• Administer and monitor treatments for a variety of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and other solid tumors
• Recognize and respond to chemotherapy-related side effects and oncologic emergencies
• Provide patient and family education and support throughout treatment
• Navy or blue scrubs required
