American Traveler is hiring a Correctional RN for a night shift assignment requiring NM or compact RN license, MOAB certification, and experience with substance withdrawal/detox care.

• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 18:00-06:30
• Primarily covers the Addictions Medicine department with rotation through all correctional unit posts
• Patient population includes those with OUD, ETOH, and poly-substance use diagnoses
• Responsible for detox rounds and MOUD (medication for assisted treatment) rounds each shift, including Suboxone and Methadone administration and Suboxone inductions
• Cerner EMR used for charting, experience preferred
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• 36-48 hour weekly schedule with facility able to call off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• MOAB certification required, facility-provided training available during first week of orientation if not already certified
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required, though candidates with strong CIWA/withdrawal experience may be considered with less
• Experience with substance withdrawal, detox, and MAT (medication assisted treatment) required
• Corrections experience preferred; candidates with Med/Surg or ER background and CIWA/withdrawal experience will also be considered
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must be able to remain on feet for approximately 80% of shift
• Must be able to pass a facility background check
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, monitoring, and treatment of patients undergoing substance withdrawal and induction processes
• Facility is smoke-free at all times, including parking areas
• Black scrub color required
• No parking fees
• First-time travelers accepted, though prior relevant experience is preferred
• Pending license candidates accepted
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require approval, with no RTO permitted during the first or last week of the contract
• Candidates must not reside within 100 miles of the facility
• Non-local driver's license required on file
• COVID vaccine optional, though facility requires reporting of vaccination status or declination
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from prior employment at the facility
• 6-month system break required after 1 year of consecutive assignments or 4 consecutive contracts, whichever comes first
