American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 16-week critical access hospital assignment in Alaska, requiring flexibility to work days, nights, and float between Med/Surg, ED, and ICU.

Details

• Critical access hospital setting supporting Med/Surg Adult, Med/Surg Mother/Baby, Med/Surg Ortho, and Med/Surg Peds populations
• 16-week assignment with a flexible schedule covering both day and night shifts as needed
• Floating required between Med/Surg, ED, and ICU units as needed
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AK RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required on hire
• Must be willing to work both day and night shifts as necessary
• Must be willing and able to float between Med/Surg, ED, and ICU as required
• Must obtain flu vaccine
• Two fingerprint cards required upon acceptance

Additional Information

• Coordinate and perform nursing care for patients of all ages, applying professional judgment based on provider orders and hospital policies
• Work independently while maintaining full accountability for clinical decisions made during scheduled shifts
• Delegate and supervise CNA/Tech staff as part of daily patient care duties
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to implement and adjust individualized patient care plans
• Provide patient and family education on treatments, procedures, and disease processes
• Participate in departmental staff meetings and ongoing competency and certification maintenance
• Assist in the orientation of new staff, travelers, and students as needed
• Comply with facility dress code and documentation standards
