American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of ER experience and SC or compact RN licensure in hand prior to start.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care hospital with 97 staffed beds
• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4, with flexing up to 1:5 during ED surges or high-volume periods
• Night shift schedule of 4x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a; manager will also consider 3x12 schedules
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (AHA certifications only)
• TNCC and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Driver's License and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care and triage services to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Attendance at staff meetings is required
• Must complete all assigned compliance modules prior to start date, with access typically provided the Wednesday before start
• Scrub color required is Royal Blue
• Parking is provided at no cost
• Facility is allowed to call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local, and the facility prioritizes non-local candidates
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• During hurricane season (June through November, peaking in August and September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
