Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Pre-op for a 10-hour day shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and strong IV skills.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Admission Unit of a 58-bed community hospital with 8 beds designated for OP/SS
• Patient population includes bariatric, ENT (including pediatric), general, gyn, ortho, sports medicine, total joints, and urology cases
• No neuro or cardiac patients
• Shift is 10H Days, most likely starting at 0900 but could range from 0515-1100
• 40 hours per week
• Uses EPIC charting system along with Alaris and Pyxis equipment
• Floating to Auburn required if census is low at Covington
• May float to Phase 2 for patient discharges or to PACU if Phase 1 experience is present
• Rotating on-call schedule including weeknights (M-Th, approximately once every 1-2 weeks) and weekends (F-M, approximately once every 4-6 weeks)

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Strong IV skills required
• Experience in discharge and patient education required
• Strong assessment skills required
• Pediatric, Phase 1, and PACU experience strongly preferred but not required

• Provide pre-operative nursing care including patient assessment, education, and discharge planning
• Scrubs are provided

• Does not require pediatric experience despite pediatric patients within ENT population
