American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Services Nurse Manager to lead a multidisciplinary IR/Cath Lab team, requiring current OR RN licensure and at least one year of Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab management/circulating experience.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology department overseeing IR and cardiology procedures
• Coordinates care delivered by RNs, Radiology Technologists, and Cardiovascular Technologists
• Day shift schedule with 5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift
• Reports directly to the OR Director
• May function in staff roles as needed including circulator, scrub, and monitor positions during interventional and catheter-based procedures

Requirements

• Active OR RN license in the State of Oregon
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• BSN required, MSN preferred
• At least one year of experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab circulating and monitoring, or as a manager/supervisor/coordinator in an OR setting
• Preferred certifications specific to clinical specialty (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale) and IV certification
• Preferred management or supervisory experience in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with patient transfers exceeding 100 pounds using proper technique or mechanical aids
• Continuous walking and standing throughout shift with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Additional Information

• Coordinate all interventional staffing, patient care activities, and departmental operations including a yearly operational budget in collaboration with the OR Director
• Provide direct supervision of RNs, Rad Techs, and CVTs, including performance evaluation, feedback, and staff interviewing
• Ensure departmental compliance with medical/legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
• Promote evidence-based practice and facilitate performance improvement initiatives within the interventional team
• Oversee supply and inventory management, including par levels, restocking, and expiration tracking
• Administer medications such as anticoagulants, vasoactive agents, contrast, and emergency drugs when functioning in a nursing/circulator role
• Manage contrast allergy considerations in collaboration with Rad Techs and physicians
• Provide moderate sedation monitoring per protocol, including hemodynamic, oxygenation, and consciousness assessments
• Function in scrub role using sterile technique to assist with catheter-based procedures when assigned
• Serve as primary monitor technologist for hemodynamic and procedural documentation when assigned
• Support peri-procedure activities including patient positioning, verification processes, and vascular access management
• Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent exposure to infectious materials and emergency situations
• Participate in required education for DNV programs as applicable to the position
