American Traveler is hiring an Adult Psych RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of inpatient adult psych experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 30-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit treating patients ages 18-65
• Patient population includes anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients undergoing detox
• Also cares for medically acute patients requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic management
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1 RN to 7-8 patients
• Uses EPIC EMR for charting
• Night shift schedule of 19:00-07:30 with every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Rotating shifts required for Day Rotate positions (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a); rotation not required for Night positions
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required (no conditional licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psych nursing experience required
• Proficient in automatic medication dispensing systems (Omni Cell)
• Proficient in psychotropic medications and their side effects
• Able to assume charge nurse responsibilities and complete admissions and discharges
• Competent in IV pump use and diabetic patient care
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Responsibilities include administering psychotropic medications, managing patient admissions and discharges, and providing care for medically acute patients on the unit
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility in Boston to be considered
