American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Community Hem/Onc Infusion role requiring 2+ years of oncology experience and ONS/Chemo certification.

• Community Hematology/Oncology infusion role primarily based at the Tualatin clinic
• Adult hematology and general medical oncology patient population
• RN navigator responsibilities include patient education and care coordination
• Department comprised of five clinic locations: Beaverton, NW Portland, Gresham, East Portland, and Tualatin
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Sunday variable
• Floating to any of the five clinic locations required based on staffing needs, with location preference considered when possible
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience required
• Approximate patient ratio of 1:4

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required)
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• 2+ years of oncology nursing experience required
• 1+ year of ambulatory infusion experience required
• Epic EMR experience required for consideration
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/infusions, port access and management, and central line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood/blood products
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies and chemotherapy side effects
• COVID-19 vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, and port/central line management
• Deliver patient and family education, symptom management, and psychosocial support
• Manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, sepsis, and tumor lysis syndrome
• Coordinate care across multiple cancer types including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Adhere to isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and proper PPE use
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Refusal to float as required may result in contract cancellation
• Returning staff or former travelers must have a 6+ month gap before returning to the facility
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed 2 weeks
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted)
• Former OHSU employees or travelers must provide a reference from their previous OHSU supervisor
• 13-week minimum contract length
