American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift assignment, and first-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Details

• Work on a Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for adult to geriatric patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI/chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-room unit with an average daily census of 35
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care (Emerson/PleurEvac), high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and IV insulin protocols
• Isolation precautions/PPE experience
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) preferred at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and related diagnoses
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized prior to assignment start
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period, including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees or travelers must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assignment begins
