Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Orthopedic Unit position at a Level 1 Trauma acute care facility, requiring an active IL RN license and 2 years of clinical experience.

Details

• Acute care setting in a 43-bed Orthopedic unit with all private rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on 12-hour days and 1:5-6 on 12-hour nights
• PCT support available at a 1:7-8 ratio
• Patient population includes medical surgical, postoperative orthopedic, and trauma cases with fractures
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Uses CPAP and heated high flow equipment as needed with RN troubleshooting responsibilities
• House-wide telemetry with Phillips monitors
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required (Sat/Sun for day shift, Fri/Sat for night shift)
• No call or standby requirements
• Travelers may be required to float occasionally to similar Med Surg floors
• Primary charge RN on each shift with 24/7 house supervisor support

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Postoperative surgical care and general med surg experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Negative drug screen required for all panels

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population including postoperative orthopedic and trauma cases
• Troubleshoot respiratory equipment such as CPAP and high flow devices as needed
• Two-part unit and department specific orientation provided
• Any color scrubs permitted with adult professional appearance required; tattoos and piercings must be covered
• COVID vaccination not required for this facility
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a local pay rate
