American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring an active CA RN license and at least one year of recent Med/Tele experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital setting
• 13-week contract assignment
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cares for patients with cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, and genitourinary conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
• Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code team activation

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of current Med/Tele experience required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in cardiac drip management, insulin protocols, and wound care/wound vac

• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, care planning, and coordination of transitions of care
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure timely and effective communication
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• Returning employees/travelers must have a minimum 1-year separation before reapplying
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
