American Traveler is seeking an LPN for a Medical Surgical unit on night shift, requiring an active NY LPN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience with EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (1900-0700)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required if needed
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Patient population includes COPD exacerbations, infections, failure to thrive, and social issue cases
• May be required to float within skillset
• EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

• Active New York State LPN license required (License required if applicable)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience within the last 2 years
• Must be able to take own patient assignment with RN support
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, and physical restraints
• Proficient in medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops)
• Experience with IV therapy and pumps, blood glucose monitoring, and specimen labeling
• Skilled in wound care including simple dressings and JP/Hemovac drains
• Experience with Foley catheter insertion (male/female) and clean catch urine collection
• Telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Work in a 528-bed acute care teaching facility that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
• Facility is affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park, offering specialized services through cardiac, cancer, neuroscience, and surgical programs
• Scrubs must be a combination of navy blue and white
• Local candidates are accepted
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
• Returning staff must have at least a 6-month break system-wide before reapplying
• First-time travelers will not be considered due to required prior travel experience
