American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Chemo Certified RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring chemotherapy certification and active Michigan RN licensure.

Details

• Inpatient and outpatient oncology, BMT, and infusion center settings
• Cares for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift, 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Duties include cell and gene therapy administration, blood product administration, chemotherapy and conditioning treatment administration, supportive care, and triage

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required; compact licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred; OCN preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions, port access/management, and central line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy including IV push and oral administration
• Skilled in symptom management and recognition of oncologic emergencies (anaphylaxis, sepsis, extravasation injury)
• Knowledge of neutropenic precautions and isolation/PPE protocols
• Bone Marrow Transplant experience preferred; cell administration experience not required

Additional Information

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and cell/gene therapies while monitoring for side effects and complications
• Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
• Coordinate care and perform telephone triage as needed
• All required certifications must be obtained prior to start date
• No pre-hire modules required; orientation modules completed onsite
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at travel rate
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after one year, provided they left in good standing
• Traveler pairs are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
