American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

• Hospital-based Behavioral Health unit setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required among five designated hospitals within skillset (Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL)
• Block scheduling is not permitted

Requirements

• Active RN license (NJ or Compact) required, in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required, must not expire within 30 days of assignment start
• CPI certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health inpatient experience, with recent experience within the last 12 months
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in administration of psychiatric medications including antianxiety, antidepressant, antipsychotic, mood stabilizer, and sedative/analgesic medications
• Experience caring for patients with anxiety, bipolar, depressive, personality, PTSD, psychotic, and schizophrenia-spectrum disorders preferred
• Experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and behavior management preferred
• Knowledge of seclusion protocols, physical hold protocols, and emergent chemical restraints preferred
• Nursys verification must be dated within 2 weeks of consideration reflecting active NJ or Compact license

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to behavioral health patients including those with substance use, suicidal behavior, and self-injurious behavior
• Responsible for medication administration and monitoring of psychiatric medication effects
• Support crisis intervention and de-escalation for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms
• Familiarity with legal aspects of psychiatric care including voluntary/involuntary commitment and use of seclusion
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must be clean shaven to accommodate fit testing prior to working on the unit
• Complete pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after that point will not be accepted
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers accepted, though experienced travelers are preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required with no exemptions
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local pay rates
