American Traveler is hiring an LPN with an active NY license and 1+ year of nursing facility experience for a 13-week evening shift assignment at a skilled nursing facility.

Details

• Work in a skilled nursing facility/nursing home long-term care (LTC) unit
• Patient-to-staff ratio of 1:10
• Evening shift schedule of 5x8 hours, 1500-2300
• 13-week contract length
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• EPIC EMR experience required for charting
• May be required to float within skillset

Requirements

• Active New York Single State LPN license required at time of submission (license required if applicable); NY is not a compact state
• Pending license not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursing facility/nursing home experience required
• BLS certification required
• Experience with behavior management techniques required
• Experience with degenerative disorders (Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's) required
• Ability to obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Previous charge experience required
• Travel healthcare experience required
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration, skin and pressure ulcer assessment/prevention, vital sign monitoring, and communication of patient status changes to RN/MD
• Behavioral health duties may include de-escalation protocols, physical and chemical restraint use, seclusion protocols, and physical hold protocols
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills utilized as needed
• Respiratory care duties may include nasal cannula management
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Previous employees may be considered for rehire after a 6-month system-wide waiting period
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
