American Traveler is hiring an Interim Operations Support Manager for a Sterile Processing Department, requiring CRCST or CSPDT certification and at least five years of sterile processing or OR/sterile processing leadership experience.

Details

• Interim leadership role overseeing Central Processing/Sterile Processing Department operations in a hospital setting
• 8-hour shifts with rotation between day (6:30A-3P) and evening (3P-11:30P) shifts based on current rotation cycle; must be able to work both shifts
• 40 hours per week
• Leadership on-call responsibilities in 1-week blocks (Friday to Thursday), including after-hours phone response and a 1-hour site visit on Saturday or Sunday
• Reports directly to the Senior Director of Surgical Services

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required; CHL certification preferred
• Bachelor's degree required, or active matriculation into a bachelor's program to be completed within 24 months of hire
• Minimum five years of experience in Sterile Processing, or a combination of Operating Room and Sterile Processing operations
• Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations
• Strong knowledge of sterilization, infection prevention, regulatory standards, workflow management, and quality improvement
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare operational systems
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and team development skills

Additional Information

• Lead day-to-day Central Processing operations, ensuring 24/7 service readiness and support for surgical and patient care areas
• Oversee instrument reprocessing, sterilization workflows, inventory availability, and throughput optimization for the operating rooms
• Manage, coach, develop, and evaluate supervisors and staff, including performance management, scheduling, and payroll oversight
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, AAMI, AORN, CDC, OSHA, infection prevention, and hospital standards
• Serve as a subject matter expert in decontamination, sterilization, and high-level disinfection practices
• Partner with clinical leaders to support surgical case readiness and resolve operational issues affecting patient care
• Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Foster strong customer service, collaboration, and communication across departments and clinical teams
