American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric PACU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring CA RN licensure and Trauma II experience in a teaching hospital setting.

Details

• Pediatric PACU unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Cares for pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia, including conscious sedation, general, local, and MAC
• Handles surgical cases including ENT (tonsillectomy), ophthalmology, and orthopedic procedures
• Utilizes cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management
• Requires airway assessment and respiratory skills
• Uses Epic charting system
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities as needed within a 75+ mile radius

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric PACU/Pre-Op experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pediatric PACU nursing care including airway assessment, cardiac monitoring, and management of pediatric surgical recovery patients
• Interpret and communicate lab values and follow isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• May be reassigned to different departments, units, or facilities within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment based on qualifications
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment and no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names, for rehire eligibility review
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
