American Traveler is seeking an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a LA or compact RN license and OR nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room/Surgery unit on a MIDS shift schedule
• Patient population includes limited pediatric (ortho only), adult, and geriatric cases
• Main campus performs Ortho (Mako total knees/hips, gamma nails), Podiatry, Hand, Spine/Crani, General surgery (including robotic), and Urology procedures
• Float campus caseload includes Pain, ENT (including pediatric), Urology, Gynecology, Podiatry, General, and some Ortho cases
• 1:1 nurse to patient ratio
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• On-call required 1-2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday-Sunday)
• Floating required between two campus locations within the OR
• 13-week assignment, full time

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• 1 year of experience in Operating Room nursing preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for surgical patients
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Previous employees of any CHRISTUS facility must be separated for 6 months prior to being considered for this assignment
