American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Float Pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units, requiring at least 1 year of experience and GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float pool role covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
• Adult to geriatric patient population with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown diagnoses
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required, averaging about 6 weekends over a 13-week contract
• Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR (required), along with Pyxis and SBAR systems
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Required Epic charting experience
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs
• Preferred experience in teaching hospital and community hospital settings
• Preferred prior charge nurse experience
• First-time travelers accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across multiple float units including cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/IMC settings
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Manage patients on heparin protocols and cardiac/vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Care for patients requiring wound care, isolation precautions, and respiratory support such as BiPAP/CPAP and oxygen administration
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and Christmas/New Year's Eve and Day
• Previous perm, per diem, or FCSS staff must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
