American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a combined Med Surg/OB unit position requiring a SD or compact RN license and prior OB and Med Surg experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a combined Med Surg/OB unit with 25 beds
• Floats between OB and Med Surg departments as needed
• Med Surg patient ratio typically 3-4 patients to 1 nurse depending on census and acuity
• Uses EPIC EMR, Sanford One Charge, and Pixis medication systems
• 36 hours per week on 12-hour Day/Night rotating shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• 3 call shifts required within the 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (SD or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required prior to start
• NRP certification required
• TNCC and PALS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• 6 months of Med Surg experience within the past year required
• 6 months of OB experience within the past year required
• Must be able to function independently in the ER and manage up to 5 patients in the Med Surg unit

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across both Med Surg and OB patient populations
• Complete EPIC computer training, 1 day of OB training, and 1 day of Med Surg training upon orientation
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs per facility dress code, with no logos; white may be worn underneath or as a lab coat
• Must badge in and out at the facility
• Holiday coverage required as part of the every-other-weekend and holiday rotation
• Local candidates may be considered, though not all locations or departments accept local candidates
• Candidates who previously worked for the health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
