Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medicine Specialty unit position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and Stepdown experience along with an active RN or compact license.

Details

• Hospital-based Medicine Specialty Unit setting
• Cares for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• Level 1 trauma center experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required, with at least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as necessary
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge education
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
• Returning travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
