American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring active PA or Compact license and prior critical care experience with a 1:2 patient ratio.

Details

• Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting within a hospital
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Candidates must be available to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only accepted)
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with CVP monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgical care
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Two supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex MICU patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and renal interventions
• Deliver care involving specialized procedures such as chest tube assistance, hypothermia protocol management, and sheath removal
• Travel pairs may be considered based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
