American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of strong labor nursing experience and the ability to circulate C-sections independently.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital, which is an LDRP model with High Risk/Antepartum care
• Facility performs over 300 births per month
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Required to work every 3rd weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Rare floating to NICU as helping hands may be required
• No holiday requirement
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required, with strong labor nursing skills
• Must be able to independently circulate own C-Section
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers with experience in a similar facility may be considered
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and postpartum cesarean and vaginal delivery care
• Experience with fetal monitoring, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, and external fetal monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with antepartum care, procedures, and triage of obstetrical patients
• Must be willing to float within scope of experience within the hospital

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including circulating C-sections and assisting vaginal deliveries
• Deliver postpartum care to patients following both cesarean and vaginal deliveries
• Practice isolation precautions and proper PPE use
• Seal Blue scrub color required
• Must live at least 50 miles from all CHN facilities to be considered for this position
• RTO requests considered per contract terms, with a maximum of 10 days
• Returning travelers are welcome back without any waiting period between contracts
