American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Operating Room RN for a night shift position requiring at least one year of nursing experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Work in the Children's OR unit of a hospital, which includes six operating suites averaging 20-25 cases per day
• Rotate across multiple service areas including Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Oral-Maxillofacial, Burns, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastics, Urology, and Dental Surgery
• Use new, innovative state-of-the-art OR equipment
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required
• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred
• Pediatric OR nursing experience in a hospital setting

Additional Information

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional nursing standards in a pediatric OR setting
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for the patient care plan
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participate in patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Contribute to unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for patients and staff
