American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a general surgical unit position requiring a compact or OK RN license and 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on a 28-bed general surgical unit serving the adult population within a hospital setting
• Unit has telemetry capability with support from monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator
• Virtual sitter monitoring available for patient safety
• Night shift schedule from 18:30-07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required based on department need

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact/OK) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established healthcare organization policies and protocols
• Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient condition
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires strong critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that could affect pay rate
