American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with prior travel nursing experience and a TX or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• Adult patient population with occasional pediatric patients
• Day shift schedule alternating between 3x12 and 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• 36/48 hour alternating weekly schedule
• Perm staff available for support with pediatric patients as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of prior travel nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing heparin, insulin, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and PCA (titration not required)
• Proficiency in isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience in Med/Surg, MS/Tele, and telemetry settings preferred
• Familiarity with rapid response/code team protocols preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and occasional pediatric Med/Surg patients
• Must reside outside a 110-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates should avoid CBD products and other substances that could result in a positive drug screen after clearance
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a plan in place
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
