American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift acute care hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and AWHONN Advanced or NCC EFM certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a beachside acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds
• Unit includes 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Facility averages 200-300 births per month
• Care for high-risk antepartum and labor and delivery patients
• Perform fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• May assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate or scrub for C-sections
• Postpartum couplet care (newborn and maternal) may be needed if Perinatal RN staffing is short
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to postpartum required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN)
• AHA certification required for ACLS and BLS
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management, sterile vaginal exams, and antepartum care and procedures
• Experience assisting with vaginal delivery and circulating/scrubbing for C-sections preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles to be considered local
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application, and minimal RTO requests are preferred to avoid delays
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of relevant experience within the last 3 years
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not apply within 50 miles of their prior facility
• Travelers may be required to float between facilities within the state as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs, with L&D-specific scrubs provided
• Candidates may only apply to one Providence facility at a time
