American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse-Operating Room for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of OR experience in neurosurgery, spine, complex ortho, and general/bariatric surgery.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Holiday and weekend coverage required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Cases include neurosurgery, spine, complex ortho/ortho-spine, and complex general surgery including bariatric surgery

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification also required
• Minimum 3 years of OR or Surg Tech experience required
• Level I Trauma and Neuro experience required
• ENT, GU, plastics, and burns experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including gynecology, plastics, trauma, neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopic procedures, ophthalmology, robotics, urology, transplant, and ENT
• Familiarity with robotic surgical systems such as the Da Vinci Xi is beneficial
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
• Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract prior to assignment, limited to 7 days or less
• Ohio fingerprinting is required promptly after signing the contract as part of the credentialing process
