American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and charge nurse capability.

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12) from 19:00-07:00
• Charge nurse duties required
• Floating required in rotation with staff, based on clinical experience and unit policies
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
• Some holiday coverage expected in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or VA) required in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience required, Oncology experience preferred
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with feeding tube care, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and emergency response experience

Additional Information

• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former Centra Health permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with no time off preferred during the first weeks
• 8-10 hours of orientation modules required, completed during initial and annual orientation
• Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance; child-friendly print tops and lab coats are allowed
• Facility maintains a nicotine-free campus
