American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Cardiac Telemetry position requiring compact RN license and 2 years of cardiac experience at a Level I Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown Cardiac unit of the Heart & Vascular Center within a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
• Care for a cardiac patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
• Average patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact/CT) required; pending license candidates accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in cardiac telemetry required
• Cardiac experience required including post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pacemaker management
• Experience with heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious/medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Responsibilities include IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Scrub color required is royal blue
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are not accepted for this position
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• Travelers must be prepared to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
