American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion Services position requiring an active Alaska RN license and a minimum of 1 year of immunotherapy/chemotherapy experience.

Details

• Infusion Services unit within a hospital setting
• Infusion patient population including those receiving specialty IV medications such as immunotherapy and chemotherapy
• Administers specialty IV fluids via peripherally or centrally placed catheters using prescribed infusion order sets
• Maintains CVC, PICC, and other IV access devices per INS/ONS and facility guidelines
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (no lunch break) or 8:00 AM–5:30 PM (with 30-minute lunch break)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Alaska RN license currently in hand — required at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in immunotherapy/chemotherapy specialty medications required
• Flu vaccine required
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to operate IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitors, non-invasive blood pressure machines, AED, and electronic health record systems

Additional Information

• Coordinates and oversees infusion patient appointment scheduling, referrals, and continuity of care documentation
• Assesses, prepares, and monitors infusion patients prior to and during administration, communicating with referring physicians, oncologists, and pharmacy as needed
• Educates patients and families on post-discharge care and participates in patient care meetings with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures prior authorizations are initiated as needed for infusion services
• Observes and reports patient reactions to drugs, treatments, and procedures, documenting all pertinent information in the patient's chart
• Start date will be no earlier than 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received and processed — candidates should schedule a fingerprint appointment and mail cards within 2–3 days of acceptance to avoid delays
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of start and every three years thereafter
