American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Surgical ICU position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications.

Details

• Surgical ICU (SICU) in an acute care hospital setting, located on the 2nd floor of Building 7
• 26-bed unit staffed with 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech per shift
• Patient population includes trauma, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients
• Patient ratios are 1:2 standard, with 1:1 for high-acuity patients including post-CABG
• Specialized equipment includes balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia equipment, and ECMO
• Typical procedures include chest tube management, central line care, and medication drip administration
• EMR: Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week travel contract

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital ICU experience
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• TNCC preferred; prior experience traveling to large trauma facilities is a plus

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Ideal candidates are driven, organized, efficient, and bring a positive, engaged attitude to the team
