American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN with NY license and 1+ year of LTC experience for an evening shift travel assignment at a long-term care facility in Rochester, NY.

Details

• Work setting is a 42-bed long-term care unit in a skilled nursing facility
• Patient population includes residents with diagnoses such as dementia, arthritis, CHF, and CVA
• Patient ratio is 1:21 on days and weekends, and 1:42 on nights
• Patient ratio experience of 1:21 is required
• Epic is the EMR used at this facility
• Scheduled for evening shifts, 5x8 hours (14:00–22:00)
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating to other units per facility need is required

Requirements

• Current NY LPN/LVN license required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LPN/LVN experience required
• LTC or skilled nursing facility experience required
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Current BLS certification required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) for the assignment
• All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a gap of at least 1 year before returning
• Core clinical responsibilities include medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, ear/eye drops, NG/G-tube), wound care, vital sign monitoring, intake and output monitoring, pain assessment and management, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Additional duties include admission of patients, specimen labeling and collection, blood glucose monitoring, Foley catheter insertion, feeding tube care, colostomy/ileostomy management, and oxygen/BiPAP/CPAP management
• Behavioral health skills are utilized, including behavior management techniques and managing assaultive behavior
• Candidates with foreign education should notify their recruiter at the time of submission so that verification can be arranged
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start of the assignment and vary by specialty
