American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse House Supervisor for a skilled nursing facility, requiring an active NY RN license, 2 years of house supervisor experience, and prior charge experience.

Details

• Serve as House Supervisor overseeing a 180-bed skilled nursing facility comprised of 5 distinct units
• Facility units include a neurobehavioral unit (dementia/Alzheimer's with violent behaviors), a rehab unit (post-orthopedic/cardiac procedures), a secure dementia unit, and two long-term care units
• Patient population includes residents with dementia, diabetes, CVA, cardiac conditions, and orthopedic treatment needs
• Oversee patient flow and provide clinical resource support across the facility during off-shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Night shift schedule totaling 36 hours per week, combining three 8-hour shifts and one 12-hour shift
• Shift times range between 11p-7a, 3p-11p, and 7p-7a
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other units required
• Utilizes Epic EMR system
• Works with special equipment including wound vacs, PICC lines, nephrostomy tubes, tube feeds, indwelling catheters, and colostomies

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a house supervisor in a healthcare facility (LTC, LTAC, or STAC)
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Skilled nursing facility experience required
• Experience with PICC line care and management
• Experience with centralized staffing models
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements including DPH, TJC, and OSHA
• Skilled in de-escalation techniques and managing assaultive behavior
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs

• Act as a clinical resource for problem solving, staff mentoring, and coaching across all facility units
• Supervise nursing care delivery organization-wide during assigned shifts
• Manage new admissions and organizational escalation processes
• Handle incident reporting, infection control, and isolation procedures
• Support workplace safety and emergency preparedness initiatives
• Scrub attire is flexible with no specific requirement
• Orientation is held during the day for the first week
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Previous employees may return after a 1-year separation period
