Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with 2+ years of MS/Tele experience for a night shift travel position requiring a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• MS/Tele patient population requiring telemetry monitoring skills
• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• Schedule options include 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
• Required to work every other weekend
• Required to float
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license currently in hand
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• MS/Tele experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management
• Experience with central line blood draws and peripheral line care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications
• Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including wound care, wound vac management, and surgical drain care
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• Must complete a drug test within 12-14 calendar days prior to start and be available for potential retesting
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
