American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Coronary Care Unit position requiring open-heart and post-cardiac surgery recovery experience on night shift.

Details

• Work in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of a hospital setting
• Care for post cardiac surgery patients, including those recovering directly from the OR
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Floating required within the hospital based on patient care needs
• No block schedules accepted

Requirements

• Active Washington (WA) or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of CCU/ICU experience required
• Open-heart surgery experience and fresh post-surgical patient recovery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience managing ventilated patients, chest tube insertion/removal, and BiPAP/CPAP
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with balloon pump (IABP) and Impella devices preferred
• Experience with CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement patients preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac and post-surgical patients in a high-acuity CCU environment
• Complete required orientation modules, typically taking 8-12 hours, signed off by facility managers
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment, and must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
