American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications.

Details

• Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts in 6 weeks, or every third weekend
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, AWHONN (FHM), and NRP certifications required in hand at time of consideration
• 2 years of Mother-Baby/Post Partum nursing experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding support, episiotomy/incisional care, and Foley catheter management
• Experience with newborn care including newborn assessment, thermoregulation, discharge teaching, and phototherapy
• Experience caring for postpartum patients with C-section, couplet care, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhage

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum and couplet care to mothers and newborns
• Perform newborn assessments, thermoregulation, discharge teaching, and phototherapy as needed
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and manage postpartum complications such as hemorrhage
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
• First-time travelers are accepted for this role
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted for this position
