American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Long Term Acute Care position in a Medical Rehabilitation Unit, requiring 1-2 years of RN experience and the ability to care for a medically complex patient population including vented patients.

Details

• Medical Rehabilitation Unit (MRU) within a Long Term Acute Care hospital environment — not a traditional Med/Surg setting
• Medically complex patient population including LVAD, CVA, ABI, SCI, wounds, CAPD, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Cardiac monitoring is utilized on the unit
• Patient ratios: 1:7 on day/evening shifts and 1:9 on night shift
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating required between sister acute care units MRU and CMU — on a 12-hour shift, a nurse may work 4 hours on one unit and 8 hours on another

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory/ventilated patients strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Nurses are responsible for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, complex and simple wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressings, and wound measurements
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators — nurses are not responsible for vent management
