American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring 2 years of experience and active AK RN licensure.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital Cath Lab, with potential floating to EP, IR, or affiliate hospitals within the state
• Work environments include Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, Hybrid OR, Interventional Radiology, and Special Procedures
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–17:00)
• On-call required 1 day per week and every 4th/5th weekend (Friday at 18:00 through Monday at 07:30)
• Weekend requirements include on-call coverage and approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of the regular 4-shift schedule
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending AK license accepted for consideration, but license must be in hand prior to offer
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required skills include: End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Monitoring Procedural Sedation, Sheath Removal/Monitoring, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/PPE, and Laser-assisted procedures
• Proficiency with cardiac medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, reversal agents, and thrombolytics
• Experience with core Cath Lab procedures including left and right heart catheterization, PCI, IABP placement/removal, interventional catheterizations, cardiac stent placement, and Pulmonary Artery/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy including blood product administration, IV infusion pumps, and IV access
• Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
• 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers and declination forms are not accepted

• Preferred skills include: ACT monitoring, External Compression Devices (C-Clamp, Sandbags), Hypothermia Protocol, Topical Hemostasis, Ventilator Management, Rotablator Atherectomy, IABP/Impella insertion, ASD Closures, and various vascular, neurological, GI, and genitourinary interventional procedures
• Floating to EP, IR, or affiliate hospitals within Alaska may be required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Holiday coverage required for at least 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day
• Only 1 RTO request is permitted per 13-week assignment; requests are approved on an individual basis
• Former permanent staff at this Providence facility must have been separated for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year of total assignment time at this facility, after which a minimum 6-month break is required before returning
• This is a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility and a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
