American Traveler is seeking an experienced RNFA for a travel OR First Assist position at an acute care hospital in Laguna Hills, CA, requiring a CA RN license in hand and broad surgical specialty experience.

Details

• Acute hospital Operating Room (OR) setting
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, typically 0630–1900 or 0700–1930 (start time is flexible)
• No floating, weekend, or on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (approximately 8 hours of training required, completed pre-start)
• Surgical specialties include General, Gyn, Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Total Joints, Plastics, Robotics, Thoracic, Urology, Vascular, Endo/Laparoscopic, and Podiatry
• Robotic platform experience includes Da Vinci, Da Vinci Xi, and Mako Surgical Systems
• Common procedures include hysterectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacements, Whipple, thoracotomy, VATS, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and colorectal robotic surgery

Requirements

• Active CA RN license currently in hand required
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care OR experience required
• Proficiency in surgical first assist skills: suturing all wound layers, tying/ligating vessels, digital tissue manipulation, suctioning/irrigation, wound dressing, and sponge counting
• Experience with a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neuro/spine, general, gynecological, urological, thoracic, robotic, and plastic surgery cases
• Familiarity with OR equipment including case carts, electrosurgical units, drills, and fiber optic light sources
• Knowledge of aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, and laser safety
• No Nursys license violations
• 1 professional reference from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• No previous permanent employment at this facility
