Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery/Postpartum RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring an active MA RN license and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• LDRP unit with 11 beds handling labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum patients
• Approximately 400 deliveries per year with core staffing of 4 RNs per shift
• Cesarean sections performed on the unit with OB RN supporting the patient and caring for the newborn while the OR team scrubs and circulates
• Patient ratios are 1:1 for laboring patients and 2-3 mom/baby couplets per nurse for postpartum care
• NOC shift from 19:00 to 07:30, working 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Required to float to med/surg, ED, ICU, or Mental Health units as a 1:1 sitter without taking a nursing assignment
• May occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active MA RN license
• Current certifications required: NRP, ACLS, and AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring
• Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, postpartum, and antepartum stays
• Support cesarean section patients and provide newborn care while OR staff manages surgical aspects
• Work within a core team of 4 RNs per shift to support unit operations
