American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Home Health position in the Chicago metro area, requiring an active IL RN license and recent home health experience with a caseload of approximately 6 patients per day.

Details

• Home health setting serving adult general med/surg-type patients
• Current team census is approximately 400 patients
• Expected caseload of 6 patients per day
• Specialized skills include wound care, infusion, lab draws, ostomy care, drain management (Pleurx, JP, biliary, atrium), wound vac, peripheral blood draws, central line care, and IV administration
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• IV pump: Sapphire
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule; no weekend rotation
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• No holiday coverage requirements
• Floating may occur within the North Metro C coverage area (zip codes 60647, 60639, 60651, 60644, and surrounding areas)

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Active driver's license and current auto insurance required
• Reliable personal transportation required for daily patient visits
• Minimum 1 year of recent home health experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, OT, Speech, etc.)
• At least 1 professional reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for visiting 5–6 patients per day within the assigned coverage area, providing skilled nursing care including wound care, infusions, lab draws, ostomy care, and patient education
• Supervised by a nursing supervisor, manager, and team leads
• Orientation includes EMR training and skills check-off; initial 2–3 days of orientation held in Oakbrook
• Scrub color is flexible; business casual attire is also acceptable — no jeans or open-toe shoes
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restrictions apply
• First-time travelers will be considered for the right candidate
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
• RTO of up to 7 days may be approved during the assignment
• South Chicagoland PSA is not eligible for this position
