American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health position in Massachusetts, requiring a permanent MA RN license and the ability to float across multiple clinic locations within a 38-mile radius.

Details

• Outpatient behavioral health setting serving adult psychiatric and mental health clients
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (hours vary between 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and 9:00 AM–5:00 PM)
• 40 hours per week
• Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends as needed
• Float requirement across all Community Healthlink (CHL) locations within a 38-mile radius; daily assignment location is provided with advance notice
• Nursing assessments may be conducted in community settings, including schools and homes
• Electronic medical record (EMR) charting required; any system accepted

Requirements

• Active, permanent MA RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience
• Experience caring for patients with behavioral health conditions including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders
• Skills required: medication administration, blood glucose monitoring, physical hold protocols, seclusion protocols, psychoeducation, and emergency care
• Must have a clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher
• Must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include answering a medication refill line, coordinating medication prior authorizations, completing nursing assessments, and facilitating referrals to primary care providers
• Works with clients on wellness initiatives such as smoking cessation, nutrition, physical activity, and stress management
• Facilitates educational groups and wellness activities for clients and supports mental health providers with medical education
• Contributes to individualized treatment plan development in collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
• Documents all assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up data in the EMR system daily
• Orientation includes a pass/fail medication exam; candidates must pass to remain on assignment
• Up to 14 days of requested time off (RTO) may be submitted for review; no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
