American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU (CCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CCU/CVSICU experience and hands-on proficiency with advanced cardiac devices.

Details

• Work in a 12-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU)
• High-acuity patient population including acute MI, cardiogenic shock, post-infarction angina, and congestive heart failure
• Nearly all patients are managed with cardiac support devices such as Impellas, IABPs, ECMO, CRRT, PA catheters, and LVADs
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
• 36 hours per week
• 3 out of every 6 weekends required
• 2 availability call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required to areas of like skill set
• Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current CCU or CVSICU nursing experience required
• Hands-on experience with cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, and PA catheters required
• CRRT experience required
• Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
• ECMO experience preferred
• Critical care certification (e.g., CCRN) preferred
• Trauma course completion preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required for consideration

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients requiring advanced mechanical circulatory support and hemodynamic monitoring
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• This is a high-acuity unit that expects candidates to be able to take a full patient assignment from day one given the device-heavy patient population
