American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, a strong pediatric skillset, and multiple certifications including TNCC, ENPC, and PALS.

Details

• Work setting is a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department (Main ED) in a hospital environment
• Patient population spans all age groups: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio is 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating is not required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Performs procedures including triage, IV starts and maintenance, phlebotomy, blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressor management, procedural sedation, and CPAP/BiPAP management
• Manages ventilated patients and maintains isolation precautions
• Preferred experience includes Level I Trauma Center, arterial line management, central line care, neurological and ortho-trauma cases, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand is required
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience (hard stop)
• Strong pediatric ED skillset required; dedicated Peds ED experience strongly preferred, but significant pediatric experience in a mixed adult/pedi ED is acceptable
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible (hard stop)
• Required certifications, all must be in hand: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, ENPC, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
• Required skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric skillset
• Preferred experience: Level I Trauma Center, arterial line management, central line care, neurological, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, spinal cord injury, ABG interpretation, CVA, ICP monitoring, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidate must have their AZ or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
• All required certifications must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Block scheduling is not permitted for this position
• Orientation modules may be completed onsite or at home prior to start date and are recorded by the facility
• Note: If floating between this facility and Maryvale ED, TNCC or ATCN is required regardless of unit-specific requirements
