American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a House Supervisor position requiring an active MT or compact RN license, a BSN, and a minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based House Supervisor role with administrative authority over the entire facility in the absence of regular leadership
• Variable night shift schedule with potential for occasional day shifts
• Three 12-hour shifts per week; weekends and holidays required with no set days
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MT RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• BSN required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience with varied clinical background
• 2 hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually and 6 hours of stroke training annually (NIHSS counts for 3 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and reaching above shoulder level
• TNCC preferred
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
• Critical care or ED experience preferred

Additional Information

• Serves as hospital-wide administrative authority and incident commander during disasters or mass casualty events in the absence of regular leadership
• Manages patient flow across the hospital including admissions, discharges, and transfers, and guides physician understanding of Utilization Review InterQual criteria
• Acts as liaison between staff, patients, families, providers, law enforcement, and governing bodies
• Facilitates emergency surgical coordination, organ donation protocols, and medical staff chain of command activation when indicated
• Rounds on all nursing units to monitor staffing adequacy, patient needs, and unit productivity
• Responds in real-time to escalated concerns from staff, patients, and families
• Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
