Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Observation Unit position requiring recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience and an AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Observation Unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Uses Meditech charting system, experience preferred but not required
• Floating required to other Med Surg units if needed, with potential float to PCU only if skills align
• Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Orientation held every Monday

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required if skillset allows for float to PCU
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry acute care experience required
• Telemetry experience required due to potential for remote telemetry monitoring
• Community hospital, teaching hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within the Observation Unit including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Holiday coverage is required
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and included at time of consideration
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
• Local candidates and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
