American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and Trauma Level I background for a 13-week day shift contract in Phoenix, AZ.

• ICU setting within an academic teaching hospital environment
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• 13-week contract
• 6 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
• Self-scheduling model; block scheduling is not available
• No on-call requirements
• Floating is required
• Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• Blackout dates for RTO: September 4–7

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications (must be in hand): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC
• CPI certification (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of consistent ICU experience, prior to travel
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Proficiency in a broad range of critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and blood product administration
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring including pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz lines, CVP, and FloTrac/Vigileo
• Experience managing ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and respiratory interventions (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tubes)
• Familiarity with neurological monitoring (ICP, stroke management, traumatic brain injury)
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and renal patient management preferred
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive critical care nursing to adult and geriatric ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions
• Care responsibilities span cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, and endocrine/metabolic patient needs
• Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, epicardial pacing wires, and post-cardiac surgery care is preferred
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are both preferred
• Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly schedule
• Onboarding modules may be completed onsite or at home prior to start date and are required annually
