American Traveler is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN for a night shift psychiatric nursing position requiring a minimum of 2 years of psych experience and 1 year of M/S experience within the last 5 years.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health unit serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:12 with support from behavioral health technicians (BHTs)
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Two weekend shifts required per week (Friday is not considered a weekend day)
• Float required PRN across up to 3 facilities within a 24-mile radius; must be willing to float down to BHT role PRN
• Charge nurse responsibilities required for all areas, including med-psych
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of M/S or psych M/S unit experience within the last 5 years (floating to M/S does not qualify)
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency in tube feedings, NG tube insertion and maintenance, Foley catheter insertion and maintenance, starting and maintaining IVs, and voluntary/involuntary commitment procedures
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Orientation is 2 weeks long, held on-site during day shift hours only, beginning on Tuesdays
• CPI certification is preferred and available on-site
• Inpatient and medical-psych treatment settings are part of this role
• Blackout dates for time off requests: September 4–7
• Candidates who have previously traveled with this health system for a cumulative total of one year are not eligible to return, regardless of time since separation
